How some businesses are like toddlers

The toddler waves his arms wildly and grunts.

When his unimpressed mother doesn’t respond, he hurls himself dramatically on the floor and screams for attention.

Not bothering to look up, the weary mom says,

“Use your words.”

Sadly, a lot of businesses market like toddlers.

Animated theatrics. No intelligible utterances.

Campaigns that are heavy on “loud commotion” but light on “clear communication.”

Here’s the truth:

Without clear, engaging words, a pretty website and an expensive social media blitz are just noise.

Think about your own buying habits.

You do business with companies that “use their words.” You buy stuff when you read or hear words that make you want to buy that stuff!

Don’t make marketing harder than it is. It always comes down to words.

Start using clear, simple words in your marketing. When you do, I promise—you’ll start making more sales.
